Daniel P. Duffy is a 1993 graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame in 1987 (B.A. Economics) and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management in 1989.
Duffy is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Wisconsin and has been admitted to the federal bar in the Northern District of Illinois and both the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. He is also admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Since 2004, Duffy has served, by appointment of the Illinois Supreme Court, as a member of the Supreme Court’s Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission’s Review Board, the official body that hears appeals of attorney disciplinary proceedings. In that role, he has participated in the deliberation and decision of more than 50 appeals as part of a three-member panel.
Duffy has also served as a Hearing Officer for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and has, since 2002, served by Circuit Court appointment as Cook County Special State’s Attorney, defending various civil rights suits brought against the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and current and former officials associated with the office.
Duffy has successfully litigated a broad range of matters at both state
and federal court, as well as before the Illinois Human Rights Commission
and the City of Chicago’s Department of Administrative Hearings.
