Firm History
Donald R. Peterson, Terry E. Johnson and James T. Murray, Jr., experienced trial attorneys, established Peterson, Johnson & Murray, S.C., in April of 1982. The firm now celebrates over 25 years in practice, having started with a core group of 5 attorneys in 1982 to now over 30 attorneys, with offices not only in Milwaukee, but also in Madison, Kenosha and Chicago.
Initially, the firm's concentration was in the areas of product liability and personal injury claims, and assisting corporations and insurance companies in the defense of these claims. Within the year following, the firm added a number of experienced and well respected attorneys with expertise in other areas of the law as well, such as medical malpractice and worker's compensation. In addition to these areas, the firm has developed and earned a well respected reputation in other related areas such as health law, legal malpractice, municipal law, civil rights, discrimination/ADA litigation, and family law.
In addition, several of the attorneys now serve as mediators and arbitrators in alternative dispute resolution.
The firm has been fortunate to enjoy continued success in the business litigation community, as evidenced by its increase in size and locations over the last 25 years. Our representation of clients is throughout the State of Wisconsin, and several of our attorneys have served as both national as well as local counsel in mass tort litigation, such as toxic shock, L-tryptophan, latex allergy, breast implants and lead paint.
In addition, the attorneys of Peterson, Johnson & Murray, S.C., are committed to voluntary service within their communities. Shareholders have continually been members of and have served on the boards of prominent legal associations and councils, hospital boards, and various industry associations. They also are involved in the education of law students serving as adjunct law professors or frequent lecturers.
